Walthamstow Deaf Club exists to promote the BSL language within the local community of east london, and beyond. Our aim for this club is to ease access of communication and information for our Deaf members and broaden deaf culture awareness amongst our hearing bsl user members. We all work together to achieve these goals by:

  1. Trying to reduce isolation of Deaf people by socialising and working with other organisations such as age concern, rnid, bda, ndcs and rad.
  2. Offering bsl workshops to the hearing community, encouraging interest, communication and awareness of the culture and language of the deaf.
  3. All members (Deaf and hearing) supporting each other in this endeavour, irrelevant of their level of social or signing skills
