WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!
WALTHAMSTOW DEAF CLUB EXISTS TO PROMOTE THE BSL LANGUAGE WITHIN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY OF EAST LONDON, AND BEYOND
OUR AIM FOR THIS CLUB IS TO EASE ACCESS OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION FOR OUR DEAF MEMBERS AND BROADEN DEAF CULTURE AWARENESS AMONGST OUR HEARING BSL USER MEMBERS
WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS BY
1) TRYING TO REDUCE ISOLATION
OF DEAF PEOPLE BY SOCIALISING AND WORKING WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS SUCH
AS AGE CONCERN, RNID, BDA, NDCS AND RAD
2) OFFERING BSL WORKSHOPS TO THE HEARING COMMUNITY, ENCOURAGING INTEREST,
COMMUNICATION AND AWARENESS OF THE CULTURE AND LANGUAGE OF THE DEAF
3) ALL MEMBERS (DEAF AND HEARING) SUPPORTING EACH OTHER IN THIS ENDEAVOUR,
IRRELEVANT OF THEIR LEVEL OF SOCIAL OR SIGNING SKILLS
FULL OF INFORMATION AND SUPPORTIVE DVDS/CD ROMS FOR OUR DEAF MEMBERS AND BSL LEARNING MEDIA FOR OUR BSL STUDENTS

OUR CLUB MEMBERSHIP
From 1/11/10 our member fees will rise to £10 per year
From 1st November 2010, everyone (Deaf and hearing) will pay £1 entry, upon presentation of their member card – if a member card is not produced a £2 entry charge to the Club will be made.
Any new visitor to the Club is welcome to come and see what we offer and will be asked for £1.50 entry fee. However, we are a members only club and any visitor coming to us for a second time, will be expected to join.
We are sorry to make these changes to our member rules and fees, but by allowing Deaf members free entry for the past two years, our funds have depleted and we have been unable to arrange as many trips as we would have liked or to provide more things to do at the Club
