Walthamstow Deaf Club recently received a grant of £4500 to pay for equipment and outings for all their Deaf Club members. Their Worships the Mayor and Mayoress of Waltham Forest attended the celebrations together with over eighty members and invited guests at a Cheese and Wine Party held at Harmony Hall on November 2nd 2005.

Other dignitaries attending were Alan Murray (Vice Chairman of the Sign Community) and Neil Gerrard (MP for Waltham Forest)

The Mayor was delighted to present the Award Certificate and praised the Club for their dedication in raising Deaf Awareness amongst the hearing community.

Juney Northman, who officially received the Lottery Grant certificate gave a brief speech thanking the Mayor and Mayoress and all who attended and especially the Clubs Central Committee, whose support, dedication and sheer hard work over the past year, have ensured the continued success of Walthamstow Deaf Club.
